先週の続きでUnit16です。
どうやら買い物や注文のロープレというよりは、"There is a ~." "There are ~." という表現に関連して、countableとuncountableを学ぶ回のようでした。(わかってなかった・・・) countableはそれこそappleでもglassでも、とにかく「1個」として数えられるもののこと。 上記の表現で活用すると "There is a glass." "Is there a glass?" "There isn't a glass." "There are 3 glasses." "Are there any glasses?" "There aren't any glasses." "How many glasses are there?" とこんなふうに変化します。 一方uncoutableはsoltでもwineでも、数えられないもの。もちろんa glass of~とかつければcountableになりますけど。 同じように活用すると "There is some wine." "Is there any wine?" "There isn't any wine." "How much wine is there?" となりますね。 someやanyの使い方、そういえば習った!と思い出せました。よかったー。(レベル低い・・・) uncoutableにはwaterのような無理!てのもあれば、物理的にできなくはないけどっていうriceとかpastaというのもあれば、ついcountbleっぽく感じてしまうmoneyやらbreadなんてのもあります。 そういえば値段を聞くときの基本 "How much is the wine?" これって実は "How much money is the wine?" ていうことだったんですねー。知らなかったです。 しかし"How much ~" と聞くと無意識に値段を聞かれてると思ってしまうので気をつけないと。TV番組のせいだ!(古っ)
